Robert Penaloza, Aberdeen Standard Investments' head of Australian equities, started in the investment world at a young age.

The fund manager was just 13 when he tried to buy into the stock exchange, after spending a day watching trading and back office settlements at the Philippines stock exchange where his uncle was a governor.
