The spring of the global economic recovery didn’t last long.
As I have written, in August Google searches containing the word “recession” peaked at a post-GFC high. Then the mood shifted. The chill thawed. Economic data began to beat (granted, lower) expectations. Emblematic of this climbing optimism, Citi’s global economic surprise index nudged into positive territory for the first time since April of last year.
