ANZ joins forecasters betting on February RBA rate cut
ANZ became the second major bank this week to bring forward its forecast for a Reserve Bank interest rate cut from May to February as Australia’s inflation outlook brightens.
The change in forecast was prompted by a fall in underlying inflation in the November consumer price index, released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday, which came in softer than expected at 3.2 per cent in annual terms.
