Workforce return for childcare buck will be swift: Albanese

Labor insists its $5.4 billion plan to boost government-funded childcare subsidies will deliver a quick return, even though research suggests Anthony Albanese’s biggest election spending commitment could bring about only minimal change to workforce participation.

The opposition leader said his policy for cheaper childcare would drive productivity, delivering a “a return” to the federal government without fuelling inflation.
