Australia’s economic recovery will be held back unless the skilled migrant intake is lifted to help fill a dramatic skills shortage arising from the global pandemic, according to the tourism and construction industry.

With Australia’s international borders only just starting to reopen after being closed since March last year, sectors such as hospitality, tourism and construction are desperate for staff.
