Tourism operators face the harsh reality of a COVID-19 recovery

One in three tourism operators are likely to sell their businesses by Christmas to exit the $50 billion industry, which has been decimated by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a new survey.

While there is economic optimism within the wider business community about Victoria and NSW emerging from lockdowns, the Tourism and Transport Forum survey to be released on Friday showed a dark mood continues to hang over the tourism sector, even with the prospect of reopened borders.
