Tourism operators want clear timeline for border reopening

The Morrison government should establish a clear and realistic time frame for reopening international borders to allow the return of overseas visitors and facilitate and the revival of Australia’s $50 billion tourism sector, according to industry leaders.

Amid confusion between Prime Minister Scott Morrison and his senior ministers about when in 2022 the borders will reopen, tourism operators fear a lengthy delay will result in more business closures and the continued exodus of staff from the industry.
