London | France has kept up the outrage against Australia’s cancellation of the $90 billion submarines contract, with Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian calling the decision brutal, a betrayal and reminiscent of Donald Trump.

He told French radio late on Thursday (AEST) that he was angry and bitter, and a very recent conversation with Foreign Minister Marise Payne had made no reference to any impending decision to switch to a deal with the US and Britain.
