Carbonix, a Sydney-based start-up run by an America’s Cup veteran that supplies drones for commercial use, has closed a $6.3 million funding round and bagged a contract to monitor Ausgrid’s power networks.

The funding round was led by ASX-listed defence manufacturer Quickstep, and will be used to expand its operations and target potentially lucrative military contracts.
