Australian data privacy experts say new laws will still be required to protect consumers from being excessively tracked by tech giants like Facebook, despite Apple introducing new measures to restrict its practices on iPhones this week.

A simmering feud between Facebook and Apple comes to a boil this week, when Apple releases an update to its iPhones that will completely change the way Facebook can track its users as they move from app to app and from website to website.
