London | Norway and Greece were among half a dozen European countries to join the list of coronavirus-afflicted countries on Wednesday, as Italy's outbreak continues to ripple across the Continent, prompting countries to step up contingency planning.
A 12th patient in Italy has died from COVID-19 and on Wednesday the number of confirmed Italian cases jumped by about a quarter, to 400. A second French victim has died, and a pair of hotels in Austria and Tenerife, respectively, remain in lockdown.
