It’s the best time ‘in a generation’ to see the Northern Lights
Scientists believe we are entering the solar maximum – the peak in the sun’s 11-year cycle of activity. Mother Nature still calls the shots, however.
All you can see out the plane window are snowy mountains and coal-black skies.
The darkness is so black and all-pervading it feels otherworldly, as if we’re leaving civilisation behind and entering a fantasy filled with mythical creatures and plots to destroy the world.
