This CEO quit high-intensity exercise and feels fitter than ever
“So much of what I have learnt carries over into my life at home and at work,” says Emma Evans, CAPI chief executive and mother of a nine-month-old. She answers our Time Out Q&A.
Emma Evans is group chief executive of beverage company CAPI, lifestyle brand Lucy Folk and investment fund Folk Capital. She lives in Melbourne.
How did you get into yoga and how long have you been practising it?
About eight years ago I was seeing a traditional Chinese medicine doctor as I was simply exhausted, and it was leading to some health issues. I found out I desperately needed to balance my nervous system. I went from six functional or high-intensity training classes a week to none and took up yoga at a local studio. Seeing the benefit to my mind and body only made me want to dive deeper. Yoga led me to meditation, which led me to breathwork, and I continue to dive deeper and deeper into the practice.
