Woolworths has moved into the vegan meat industry, signing an exclusive deal to stock discount options that undercut the struggling startups once dominant in the market.

In May the supermarket behemoth started selling products from Melbourne manufacturer Flexitarian Foods that retail for about half the price of offerings from vastly smaller rivals.
