We all know Italian food and restaurants are as much a part of Melbourne as the MCG. Even so, it’s fair to say the slew of big new openings over the past 12 months took many of us by surprise. Why here? Why now? Why does everyone seem to be falling in love with Italian eateries, Italian hospitality and the tricolore trinity of pasta, pizza and tiramisu all over again?
