At Zegna’s latest show, the menswear label favoured by the former PM took a more relaxed approach. It is, says artistic director Alessandro Sartori, the future.

In the musical Keating, based on our former prime minister’s rise to power, the title character sings cheerily as his star climbs: “When you’re in a Zegna, then you’re on your way.”
Paul Keating’s love of Ermenegildo Zegna suits is storied. Indeed, the luxury Italian label has legions of fans, mostly corporate players keen to look suitably sharp for the corner office or actors aiming for red-carpet cool (Donald Glover, LaKeith Stanfield and Javier Bardem are fans).
