Is hatred of Britain and America why Keating despises AUKUS?
A strategic posture based on dislike of Britain and America is not the way to maintain the Indo-Pacific balance of power and engage with China without becoming a client state.
I don’t know who taught Paul Keating international relations but my guess is he was inspired by Eamon de Valera.
De Valera was the prime minister of Ireland during the Second World War whose hatred of the British led Ireland to adopt a position of strict neutrality between the Nazis and the liberal democracies.
