What is it? The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is a subtle update of one of motorcycling’s surprise packets. The once-English, now Indian maker produced its new generation 650s in 2018 with modern technology and production methods (after years of building old but interesting Brit designs). The result brought rave reviews. The appearance of 2018 650 models was very 1960s; this update brings a few 1970s sensibilities including optional burnt-orange decals on the tank, blacked-out cast iron alloy wheels and exhaust, LED lighting and a few subtle mechanical upgrades.
You’ll have to dress up to ride it, unlike in the 1960 and ’70s.
