“What makes Sculpture by the Sea the success it is, both artistically and with the public, is the Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk, and Cottesloe Beach, which are unique for being suitable for the exhibition,” says David Handley, founder of the iconic outdoor art show.

“If all you needed was a long, flat sandy beach, then Sculpture by the Sea would be everywhere from Venice Beach to Barcelona, but you need the variety of environments, you need the journey for the public to be on.”
