The Australian Ballet’s box office fell 18 per cent in 2024 on its way to a loss of $9.1 million, which it blamed on being forced to move from its home theatre while it is refurbished.
The poor result for Australia’s second-largest performing arts company, revealed in its financial report lodged late last week, comes as the largest – Opera Australia – reported a $10.1 million loss last calendar year.
