A home is a portrait of its owners, and the best interior designers are adept at capturing the essence of their clients.

Art dealer and collector Gene Sherman had made self-portraits of her former abodes, assuring the design and decoration herself. But when it came to the house she and husband Brian recently acquired, Sherman decided to hire a skilled portraitist – interior designer Don Cameron – to paint this particular picture.
