With 86 galleries participating in the Sydney Contemporary art fair, new director Zoe Paulsen reckons visitors will find something that piques their interest.

Incoming Sydney Contemporary fair director Zoe Paulsen understands the compulsion to collect better than most: her mother, Lisa, began acquiring contemporary art when Zoe was nine and – according to Lisa herself – “became obsessed within about five minutes”.

Paulsen vividly remembers schoolfriends flocking to her childhood home to eyeball her mother’s latest acquisitions, some of which were decidedly “out there”.
