Twelve months ago, Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 flying over Oregon was forced into an emergency landing when a door blew off its Boeing 737-MAX-9 aircraft. The aircraft was almost new – and in the air.

The ensuing scrutiny of Boeing and its processes has made for a very difficult year, not just for the aircraft manufacturer but for every airline around the world that was hoping to overhaul its fleet.
