Telstra opens Silicon Valley hub in race to build AI

Telstra will put boots on the ground in Silicon Valley, joining Commonwealth Bank as the latest big Australian company to set up a US hub to give staff direct access to the tech pioneers leading the artificial intelligence revolution.

Australia’s biggest telecommunications company will take up residence in Accenture’s offices near Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, California, as part of a $700 million investment in an AI alliance.
