The NRL’s historic Las Vegas double-header struggled to land American television audiences, failing to find more than 62,000 viewers per game for the two matches that took place on Saturday in prime-time.

Australian Rugby League Commission chairman Peter V’landys said earlier this week success would not be about the number of ticket-holders who went to Allegiant Stadium to watch the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles defeat South Sydney Rabbitohs 36-24, and Sydney Roosters beat Brisbane Broncos 20-10 in person.
