The greyhound industry says it can survive the banning of the sport in NSW and the ACT this week, as moves are also set in place to mount a legal challenge to the decision by NSW Premier Mike Baird
About $500,000 is understood to have been raised to contest the ban, which Mr Baird announced this week. Greyhound racing is set to be banned in NSW from July 1, 2017, a move which was quickly copied in the ACT.
