A top emergency medicine specialist has warned people not to try liquid-only diets and other extreme weight-loss measures, explaining if the late Shane Warne had been on a gruelling fasting regime, it could have triggered his suspected heart attack.
“If Shane Warne was on a very strict diet, that could have interfered with the electrolytes in his blood,” Sydney-based Professor Gordian Fulde told The Australian Financial Review on Sunday.
