The chief executive of Tribe Breweries, which is 50 per cent owned by private equity group Advent, says the smaller end of the craft beer sector is likely to go through a wave of consolidation as packaging and transport costs soar and put pressure on margins.
Amarto Basu, the boss of Tribe, which in 2019 built a $35 million production facility in Goulburn in NSW to become one of the larger craft brewers, also said the no-alcohol beer segment was likely to continue to accelerate from a low base.
