Guzman y Gomez thinks drive-through outlets are the future

Mexican fast-food chain Guzman y Gomez is accelerating its roll-out of drive-through outlets because they deliver better long-term profits by tapping into a broader customer base, and some can be run 24 hours a day.

Steven Marks, co-chief executive of Guzman y Gomez, said 85 per cent of the potential sites being examined for expansion were drive-through sites. The company has been a stellar performer for investors since listing on the ASX in June in the biggest float in three years, with the shares up 68 per cent.
