The Nepenthe Wine Dinner at Luke Mangan’s new hotspot Luke’s Kitchen at the Kimpton Margot Hotel in Sydney is buzzing on a Tuesday night in late June.
The dining room in the luxurious hotel, taken back to its 1939 art-deco roots with soft blush tones, was full of those willing to fork out $150 per head for the five-course degustation menu. Across the country, Rockpool Bar & Grill in Perth – as truffle season gets underway – is offering a five-course dinner at $249 a head (add $129 for matching wines) featuring winter truffles from Manjimup in Western Australia.
