Australia is a ‘must win market’ for us, new Bacardi boss says
The new boss of Bacardi Australia, Luiz Schmidt, is fresh off the plane from Panama, and amid the construction and cranes in Brisbane’s CBD he sees opportunity for the owner of premium brands Patron and Bombay Sapphire.
The 45-year-old Brazilian has ambitious plans to lift revenue by about fivefold to $500 million over the medium term, calling Australia a “must win market” for Bacardi, which is best known for its namesake white rum.
