Strategy consulting firm Kearney’s motto of assessing the “essential rightness” of projects before taking on clients has helped it thrive while avoiding ethically and legally suspect work.

That’s the view of its new chairman, Bob Willen, who also says Kearney is in an optimal market position because it remains one of the few “pure play” management consulting firms, as strategy consulting rivals move to emulate tech consulting giant Accenture.
