If the Environmental Defenders Office is left with a big costs bill after the failed attempt to stop the Barossa gas project, it can’t say it wasn’t warned about the perils of “cause lawyering”.

In 2015, then High Court chief justice Robert French spoke at a 30th anniversary dinner for the NSW EDO, which joined with EDOs in other states to form a national body in 2019.
