Companies that use financing schemes to manipulate cash flows and delaying paying suppliers beyond a month risk missing out on government contracts, the small business ombudsman has warned after announcing a formal review of supply chain financing.
It was "totally unacceptable" for big companies to use supply chain financing arrangements to extend payments to suppliers beyond 30 days, Small Business Ombudsman Kate Carnell said.
