Former High Court judge Kenneth Hayne says conflicts of interest and poor culture continue to plague the finance sector and corporate Australia more widely, at a time when the PwC scandal shows businesses are still putting profits over ethics.

In a rare speech, the man whose inquiry and findings were meant to put the financial services industry back on track after years of misconduct warned that boards and executives still needed to learn from the key findings of his banking royal commission.
