‘Mind-blowing’ Tasmanian Devil tooth uncovered in WA’s Juukan Gorge
The tooth of a Tasmanian Devil has been uncovered in the rubble of the Juukan Gorge rock shelter destroyed by mining giant Rio Tinto, with Aboriginal landowners claiming the discovery has the potential to rewrite the history of Western Australia’s vast Pilbara region.
The tooth was discovered along with several other items including pieces of braided human hair, a shell bead and quartz artefacts in the Juukan-2 rock shelter almost four years after it was destroyed by the now infamous mining blast.
