Liontown Resources chairman Tim Goyder says the Albanese government needs to “reach for the stars” in lithium and other battery minerals as US suitor Albemarle Corporation weighs its next move after having a $5.5 billion takeover bid rejected.

The reborn billionaire behind two of the hottest battery minerals projects in the world said there was no reason why Australia could not move all the way downstream to making batteries with the right support and policy settings from government.
