Glasenberg flags exit, but only when he's ready

With his strategy embedded and a succession plan evolving, Glencore's CEO predicts a bright future for coal and says he will stand aside only when he knows the next generation is ready.

Glencore’s annual investor day appears to have seeded a Mark Twain moment for chief executive Ivan Glasenberg.

Reports that the 62-year-old force of nature who has run Glencore since 2002 had hinted at a retirement more imminent than previously flagged could well prove to be an exaggeration.
