Clive Palmer launches $300b claim against Australia

Clive Palmer is seeking almost $US200 billion ($299 billion) in damages from Australia – roughly the same amount as earmarked for the nuclear submarine fleet under AUKUS – in a case related to stalled iron ore projects and emergency legislation passed by the West Australian government.

Mr Palmer has enlisted former attorney-general Christian Porter, now working as a barrister, to help fight the case lodged by his Singapore-headquartered Zeph Investments.
