BHP’s Anglo American bid clouds Rinehart-backed potash project

BHP’s takeover bid has hit efforts by Anglo American to sell down a big stake in the Woodsmith potash project in the United Kingdom, and threatens to delay Gina Rinehart reaping any return on a $380 million investment.
Anglo American has been in talks about selling a 49 per cent stake in the giant fertiliser project amid a plunge in potash prices linked to higher exports from Russia and Belarus.
