Australian investors back BHP unification

Australian investors have overwhelmingly backed BHP’s plan to unify its corporate structure, in a major boost for the company’s plan to divest its oil and gas business this year.
More than 96 per cent of proxies in BHP’s Australian listed company were cast in favour of unification at a shareholder meeting on Thursday evening, suggesting the proposal was on track to be formalised in London late on Thursday night Australian time.
