If the two people made redundant by Fortescue Metals Group on Thursday had gone straight to their LinkedIn accounts to search for a new job, they would have found their former employer recruiting at a rapid pace.

Fortescue was advertising 63 vacant positions over the weekend and the recruiting drive stretches from Delaware to China, the United Kingdom to Queensland and, of course, the company’s home base in Western Australia.
