Fortescue won’t rule out job cuts

Fortescue Metals Group has refused to rule out a big wave of job cuts as one of the austerity measures it will deploy as it prepares to raise its spend on clean energy and mining projects.
The threat of job cuts comes as analysts warn Fortescue may be softening its rhetoric on dividends, too, as the iron ore industry comes back to earth after an era of exceptionally high prices.
