The cinema industry is banking on a strong pipeline of blockbuster films to help draw the public back to the movies after COVID-19 lockdowns sent screens dark.
Damian Keogh, president and chief executive of Hoyts Group, said the numbers returning this week as COVID-19 restrictions eased in NSW were “strong”, with lots of seniors buying tickets in the morning, while younger audiences preferred the evening.
