The AFL’s incoming chief executive, Andrew Dillon, says a five-month transition period before he officially takes the reins from predecessor Gillon McLachlan reflects common practice in corporate Australia.
Mr Dillon was named CEO-elect by AFL Commission chairman Richard Goyder on Monday morning following a search for a new boss that dragged on for more than a year.
