Worley writes off Ecuador claims as interim net profit rebounds
Worley chief executive Chris Ashton says the global engineering group could pursue claims for work done in Ecuador through the South American country’s courts after a $58 million write-down crimped a rebound in interim net profit to $106 million.
Worley swung back into profit from a $99 million loss a year earlier as earnings from providing engineering services to the energy, chemicals and resources projects increased, boosting group revenue 13 per cent to $6 billion.
