CIMIC ‘bouncing back’ from 2020, says CEO

Australia’s biggest construction group is “bouncing back” from a difficult 2020 but will need to reassess the impact of project shutdowns in NSW if they are extended into August, CIMIC chief executive Juan Santamaria said.

CIMIC, which reported a 34 per cent drop in interim net profit to $208 million on Wednesday, is confident that it can work with the NSW government on any claims resulting from the temporary halt in construction work and that it will not have a material financial impact.
