Wesfarmers is confident that Australian Pharmaceutical Industries boss Richard Vincent will remain at the helm of the drug wholesaler under its ownership, to ensure continuity in the business.

The Western Australia-based conglomerate clinched the overwhelming backing of API’s shareholders at a scheme meeting on Thursday, which leaves only the final court approval standing in the way of its goal of creating a major new healthcare vertical.
