G8 raises childcare fees as chief executive collects $3m in pay

G8 Education, the country’s largest sharemarket-listed childcare provider, has pushed through a 4.5 per cent fee increase and bestowed a record $3 million pay package on its new chief executive Pejman Okhovat.
The fee increases at the Gold Coast-headquartered group, which has more than 400 centres, were linked to higher wage and supply costs. The company did not rule out the price rise flowing to its profits, increasing margins.
