Connected health devices could be part of national preventative strategy
If you are sceptical about the health benefits of fitness trackers made for everyday consumers, you have at least one healthcare veteran on your side.
"There's a series of randomised trials that have been published recently on the impact of wearable health devices on weight loss," says Stephen Leeder, chair Western Sydney Local Health District and Emeritus Professor in public health at the University of Sydney. "After about six months there's no advantage at all."
